Akebono Shuzo is a long-established brewery in Aizubangemachi, Fukushima, with a history of over 200 years. Brewery aprons like this were originally produced as promotional items for liquor shops and restaurants, so they were rarely available to the general public—making them quite hard to find even within Japan.
With the growing global popularity of Japanese sake, these traditional designs have become sought-after items overseas as well. Tenmei—meaning “daybreak” or “the moment the sky begins to lighten”—is the brewery’s flagship brand, now recognized nationwide.
